Garden Eats

Garden Eats is founded by two friends which, Md Khairur Ridhwan and Md Azmi Waliyuddin. The origins for Gardens Eats is that they started selling at Gerai Jangsak back in late 2019. After gaining popularity, they opened up at their house located at No 8 Spg 42 Jln Kilanas Kg Kilanas Ban6 in January 2020. The reason for their name is self-explanatory, the front of their house has a spacious and serene garden which they use for their customers to eat their burgers, hence Garden eats. Home made burgers have lately risen in popularity in Brunei as opposed to the mass produced burger patties that many usually eat. People desire more in their burgers thus several businesses opened up to cater the demand. CAKOI3RASA

  Cakoi, a local favorite, was brought by Chinese immigrants to Brunei. Known as Youtiao, it is a donut type treat that is deep fried and eaten with various condiments whether it be sweet or savory. CAKOI3RASA is one of the numerous stalls that sells cakoi at Pasar Malam Gadong. Founded by Hj Wan Zulaini Bin Mohd Zelani back in 1999 and they started selling at Pasar Malam Gadong in 2001. CAKOI3RASA  originally sold their cakois with 4 flavors which is Durian,  Pandan, Honey and Peanuts. Now they only offer 3 flavors which Durian, Pandan and Tuna.  Recently, they started to dell Nasi Katok and Ayam Penyet at their stall, the sambal paired with them is a perfect balance in terms of spiciness and umami. LINGUALIST.BN

"Memupuk jati diri dengan mempelajari dialek kitani" Lingualist.bn motto   Lingualist.bn is founded by 7 students studying for their masters at University Brunei Darussalam this August. The 7 founders pondered what to do as they await for their Masters to finish, they decided to make a Teaching program specifically on teaching Bruneians about their own native language.  They saw the effects of globalization has on Bruneians especially the youths, fearing that Brunei's local language might someday become extinct. Additionally given that this is the digital age where the internet plays a crucial roles in our lives, the founders of lingualist.bn also saw it as a threat as the lingua franca of the internet is english. Cake Baby!

"You do the  thing that you do best" -owner of Cake Baby! Cup cake cravers  of Brunei, are you looking for a place that   doesn't sell the same thing everyday? Then look no further as Cake Baby! delivers just that. With different flavors every week, you mouth wont get tired instead it will be craving for more. Its humble origins is that her grandmother taught her everything about the basics of baking when she was 7 years old. Watching her grandmother baked aspired her to try baking herself, learning how to hold a whisk properly, the ingredient needed and what it is supposed to taste like when it is finished. Another person who also greatly influences her to become a baker is her grandmother's cook/baker, Velma, who she considers as her mentor and a superb baker.  Cake Baby started this year, the reason is all to common for many which is the COVID-19 pandemic which resulted in many people losing their jobs. Their food selection is not that many as they have just started but what they lack in quantity they make it up in quality. FAITHQALAM

FaithQalam is a school that teaches everything about Islam, it is founded by Haji Aminurhazim bin Haji Osman. It was originally called Malaq Tuition back in 2016, officially called FaithQalam this year with the support of the Al Houda Entrepise to conduct teachings. The mission of FaithQalam is greatly influenced by Brunei's Wawasan 2035 to improve the education of all resident.  FaithQalam strive to make all their lessons to be completely different from other schools or tuitions so that evrything that is taught would remain. To ensure a meaningful study session, different approaches were taken depending on their age such as for kids they would learn by games, movies or songs. Sotong Sii Rashid

Sotong Sii Rashid is a food business that always appears during Brunei's festivals such as the Sultan's Birthday or National day at Taman Sir Muda Omar Ali Saifuddin. It is solely run by Abdul Rashid Bin Hj. Khairzzaman at his house at RPN. Kg. Meragang. When the COVID-19 pandemic caused a nationwide lockdown, his business at first suffered then through social media he was able to continue making and selling his squids.  Aside from hammered squids, he also sells boiled squids and Air Jagung  Sotong Sii Rashid also have a stall located near Menglait Sport Complex, however due to COVID it is temporarily closed until the lockdown ends. Santai-Santai Shooting Kafe & Grill

Santai-Santai Shooting Kafe & Grill is located at RPN Kg. Mengkubau. Started in 2000, their café which is at their house is theme like a movie set due to the owner, Roslee Bin Haji Metali, being in Brunei's film industry. He decide to decorate his café surrounded with film memorabilia to make his customers feel like they are on a film set ready to be taken.  Their signature dish is their Nasi Bungkus SuratKhabar, Nasi Katok that is wrapped in old Newspapers before it is cleaned throughly. Their sambal selection is either regular, spicy or Sambal Penyet.  They do offer a number of dishes, among them are Mee Goreng with Ayam Penyet, Mee Basah Ayam, Mee Basah Thaithong Seafood, Mee Basah Kuetiaw Kungfu, Nasi Goreng Hati buyah, Nasi Goreng Cornbeef Ayam Penyet, Soto, French Fries and grilled chickens.
